The Ikogosi warm spring in 55 kilometers and one hour drive from
Akure, capital of Ondo State. This major tourist attraction with
landscope and green vegetation is rather fascinating. The warm water
from the rock meets with cold water stream 100m below. There are
55 functional challets for tourists and zoological garden beside
the spring

Oluko rock is the most prominent tourist attraction in Abeokuta,
Capital of Ogun State. In fact the town it self derives it's name
from the rock which is a massive out-crop of granite rocks of primitive
formation. To the natives, the Olumo rock is their symbol of faith
in unity and a source of national strength protection and sustenance
from the Almighty. The highest point of Olumo rock is about 137
meters above sea level. Visitors and tourists are conducted round
and guided to the top of the rock by young men who are mostly indigences
of Abeokuta.

The Oguta lake resort located in the heart of the ancient kingdom

The Museum located at the Onikan area of Lagos Island houses African
art and cultural artfacts dating as far back as 500 BC-200AD. Including
the famous Igbo-Ukwu bronzes dating way back to the 9th Century.
The Museum is open to the public throughout the working week. There
is also the Museum Kitchen where various traditional dishes are

MUSEUM AND MUSEUM OF TRADITIONAL NIGERIAN ARCHITECTURE - MOTNA (Jos)
The Jos Museum established in1952 is one of the earliest museums
in Nigeria. It is situated in the heart of the City. Opposite the
Jos Zoo. Among the collection in the Museum are the famous Nok Terra-Cotta
Sculptures which dates to 500BC. Other collections found in the
Museum are ethnographic relics of ancient civilization including
dancing costumes, local musical instruments, and mining exhibitions
of old. Monta is posibly the only one in black Africa and it aims
at preserving ancient and traditional architecture of the various
peoples of Nigeria.

This Museum located along Ali Road is now one of the most fascinating
and unique tourist attraction in Kaduna. Apart from the preserved
antiquities of the famous Nok Terra-Cotta dating 2,500 years, wood
carvings and masks, there are other art works from all parts of
the country including the famous Benin Bronze heads. Other facilities

WAR MUSEUM (Umuahia)
The National War Museum located at Ebitu Amafor in Ikwuano, Umuahia
is not only an outstanding tourist attraction but a very significant
historical importance. It houses relics of the Nigerian Civil War,
including the "Ojukwu Bunker" and the voice of Biafra.
Others include the Ogbunigwe, a localy manufactured bomb. Other
items of interest at the museum include relics of the Enugu Coal
Mines Riots, Aba Women Riots, Niger Delta Riot and the Maitasine

1780 by the ancient craftmen of the town. It is the tallest mud-brick

KAINJI
LAKE NATIONAL PARK
The park which is the largest in Nigeria and one of the largest
in West Africa was established in 1979 by the merger of Borgu and
Zuguma reserves. The part is situated at the boundary between the
Sudan and Guinea Savannah and covers a land area of 950 sq km. The
park has a variety of wild life which includes Elephant, Antelope,
Lion, Hippopotamus, Baboons, Crocodiles, Leopards. Other special
features include: Wilderness experience and game viewing early morning
or evening in park or own vehicles; cruise in lake Kainji all the
year round and tour of the Kainji Hydro Eletronic Complex. The Park
is best visited in December.

The Okomu wildife sanctuary is located near Benin City, capital
of Edo state. The sanctuary is a rain forest preserved by the Nigeria
conservation foundation. The white throated monkey which is one

Other animals such as elephants birds and butterflies are abundant.

animals are found in the park. These include Lowland gorillas (numbering
over 200) forest elephants, buffalos and leopards.

YANKARI
GAME RESERVE
This is Nigeria first game reserve and the first of its kind in
English speaking West Africa. It is located about 115km south east
of Bauchi, capital of Bauchi state and cover a land area of 2,240
sq.km. It's major attraction is the warm springs at Wikki Camp which
serves as swimming pool to thousands of tourists.
Animals found in this reserve include; elephants, hippos, baboons,
bush buck, crocodies, antelopes, water bucks and lions. Birds in
the reserve include: bee-eaters, Fish eagle, goliath heron and king
fishers. Game viewing in reserve or own vehicles.

FISHING FESTIVAL
A local fishing festival which has over the years assumed an international
tourism attraction status, the Argungu fishing festival was first
held in August 1934 in Argungu village, about one hour drive from
Sokoto metropolis. It is now held once a year between February and
March. Fishermen numbering over 3000 equipped with only hand nets
and hooks at both ends charge into the river at the start of a signal
amidt pomp and pageantry. It is a most fascinating site to behold.
Accommodation of International standard, banking facilities and
local market have been provided for the comfort of visitors to the
Festival.

- HIR PUPPET THEATRE
The festival is a dramatization of folklore of the Tiv people of
Benue State into popular dances and puppet shows. The puppets demonstrate
intricate dance steps and movements with precision. The Kwah - hir
has been performed in various parts of Nigeria and in Overseas countries.
It now hold between 26th - 30th December of every year in Gboko,
Benue State.

The sharo or shadi is held among the fulani people of Northern Nigeria
mostly during the dryb season and during sallah festivals. It depicts
the fulani strong moral values and cherished character of toughness,
independence and self reliance. A sharo or shadi gathering often
lasts one week and is usually held in an open space.

OMERIFE
FESTIVAL
The Omerife festival is held among the people of Oguta Kingdom in
present day Imo State. It is usually a period for purification,
ancestral worship and appeasement of the gods and goddesses in the
town; and the symbolic destruction of the evil spirit (Igbube Ekewnusu)
traditionally performed only by full members of the ancient and
prestigious Igbu title holders in the community. The high point
of the Omerife festival is the traditional ogene celebration when
young people dress in funny attires and dance round the town.
The festival is usually held between July and August every year.

FESTIVAL
Osun is an annual festival held every August among the worshippers
of the Osun goddess especially among the Osogbo people of present
day Osun State. Visitors and Tourists gather to watch worshippers
of the goddess, reputed to have the power of making baren women
feritile, descend on the banks of river Osun to offer sacrifices
to the goddess at the Osun Osogbo Shrine.
The Osun groove with its peaceful environment and effigies of Yoruba
gods is now a major national monument and tourist attraction.
